Shakur Zayas

Great boxing…and what a crowd watching the match…

Shakur taught Lopez a lesson and, as mentioned, his father’s tactics were more unsuccessful than expected…it’s ridiculous to remember the basics against a southpaw; it would have been tough anyway, but there would certainly have been more interesting and active phases for Teofimo. It’s a real shame. Stevenson is truly a monster. He had a few minor dips in some rounds, but otherwise he was truly superb. Then again, everything is easier when you’re faced with the same combination for 12 rounds… his father was disastrous.

Xander had a great match and, as mentioned, Baraou is solid; he took a lot of punches but also landed several, especially that right hand, which was really annoying, and his desire not to give up and win made a big difference. On our scorecard, the Puerto Rican lost some rounds for sure, but his technical and tactical superiority was evident, and at the end of the match, the marks on the German’s face were clear… Great movement and precise punches… There is still a lot of work to be done and timing to be improved, but given his footwork, it becomes more difficult, but the kid is really talented.
Davis wins, Chou wins, and Miller is unconvincing even though he won.
Nice boxing.
